Privacy policy
Short, like it should be.
Analytics
We count visits with Umami, which is cookieless and does not follow you to other sites. It runs twice — once on Umami's hosted service and once on a server of ours — because the hosted one is on common blocklists and we would rather have one honest count than half of one. Both are told the same thing: the page, the referrer, your screen size, your language, and which of a handful of things you clicked. Cloudflare also records basic page-performance data.
What is stored in your browser
Three things, in local storage rather than cookies. A random id, so a second visit is recognisable as the same browser rather than as a new person — it is a random number, derived from nothing about you. The campaign tags from the link you arrived on, if it had any. And a local copy of the last hundred events, which stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
Clearing site data for faust.ooo removes all three, and the random id is not recoverable afterwards. That is intended, not a bug.
Leaving for Harness
Links from here to harness.faust.ooo carry that random id and the campaign tags in the address, so a visit that starts on this site and continues on that one is not counted as two strangers. Nothing about you personally travels with it. Harness has its own privacy policy, and the device itself is covered there.
If you join the list
We store your email address so we can send you occasional notes about what we are building. It goes to the services that hold the list and send the mail, and nowhere else. We do not sell it, and there is no advertising pixel on this site.
Deletion
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe and it is immediate. To have anything else removed, write to us and we will do it.
